I see a great river flowing
like the high winds above a mountain’s peak.
And beside the river’s belly,
purple water hyacinths make their home.
You are like the mighty river that waters the beauty.
And with your stories,
every word is like a drop that waters the soul.
There is a moment when writing, where every amount of yourself is poured onto paper or projected onto a screen. All of it means a great deal; the words you choose, the words you decide to leave, even the words you decide to take out.
Of course it’s for you. And without a doubt, others will transcribe your words in particular meanings for themselves, as well. But it’s a lesson I’m learning: write for you.
